“A feeling of fear had been growing on him all day, and he was unable to rest or go to bed: there was a brooding threat in the breathless night-air. As he stared out into the gloom, a black shadow moved under the trees; the gate seemed to open of its own accord and close again without a sound. Terror seized him. He shrank back, and for a moment he stood trembling in the hall.” — The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
After recapturing the beacon at Erelas and dispatching Thruk’s band of marauding horse-thieves, your party has arrived in Aldburg with dire news for Éomund, marshal of the Eastmark. Soon, you learn of a devious plot hatching within the city. Will you infiltrate the seamy underbelly of Aldburg’s criminal underworld, or will you attempt to enlist the help of the city watch? Either choice will lead to grave consequences — but as you delve deeper into the mysteries of Aldburg, will you be able to bear the truths you uncover?
A Long-extended Party is pleased to announce The Aldburg Plot, the first adventure pack in the Oaths of the Rohirrim cycle. As with all ALeP projects, this adventure pack is a fan-created scenario, free to download, and is intended to honor and extend the legacy of the greatest card game in Middle-earth.
Fear! Fire! Foes!
As your heroes hunt down the conspirator within the Rohirric city of Aldburg, you will find yourself flipping double-sided cards in order to claim the clue on the reverse. Each clue will lead to greater insight in the truth, but each will also introduce a new fork in your path. After you track down the assassin known as The Whisperer and claim her silver dagger, which road will you take?
With many different paths to travel, The Aldburg Plot intends to reward multiple playthroughs with new nuggets of lore and added bits of mystery.
Of course, there are few adventurers more equipped to manage a bit of subterfuge than Frodo Baggins’s co-conspirator, Fatty Bolger. With two new heroes and nine different player cards in this adventure pack, A Long-extended Party is pleased to introduce a host of options for conducting your mission in utmost secrecy.
Newly arrived from Crickhollow, Fatty Bolger is a master at evading detection, sporting a handy threat reduction and the absolutely essential ability to cancel a non-unique enemy revealed from the encounter deck.
But it is a simple fact that when a hobbit chooses to stand and fight, they are not to be underestimated. When Fatty or one of his companions raises the Horn-call of Buckland, enemies beware!
